Licensed Professional Counselor

Sometimes we face difficult challenges in our life. I commend you for recognizing that there are times where we all need a little help. I would be truly honored to walk alongside you or your child on a journey toward healing and overall improved wellness. Developing a safe and comfortable relationship with each client is my first priority. I feel it is important to get to the root of an issue by figuring out when it began, process through it to find healing as well as acceptance, and then use tools and techniques to make specific changes in thoughts and behaviors.

I have always had a passion for helping others. Prior to my counseling journey, I was a high school and junior high science teacher for 10 years. While teaching, I then chose to pursue a degree to be a counselor in the school systems where I have been as a high school counselor for the last 14 years. During this time, I was also able to pursue my goal to become fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor. It has been one of the most rewarding moves I have made in my life.

My areas of specialties are working with children, adolescents, and adults. Specifically, I enjoy working with pre-teens and teens dealing with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, peer pressure, family struggles, self-harm, self-esteem, and suicidal ideation. Additionally, I am experienced in working with individuals suffering from depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), loss, and grief.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Sam Houston State University and a Master of Education in Counseling from University of Houston-Victoria.
