Licensed Professional Counselor Associate Superised by Edna Balboa, M.Ed., LPC-S

I have consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to pursuing a career in the mental health field, shaping my professional path through focused education and practical experience. My education includes studying Psychology and Sociology in high school, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston, and completing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas-Houston. My experience includes crisis counseling as a volunteer at Crisis Text Line and extensive work in developmental counseling with children and adolescents, particularly during my counseling internship work at the Fort Bend Women’s Center. I primarily employ a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework, complemented by Person-Centered Therapy to support my clients who are adults.

While I have prior experience working in crisis and trauma-based counseling, my true passion lies in the developmental field of mental therapy, aspiring to use a Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) approach with children and adolescents. I often found this to be an effective way to assist my clients, as I firmly believe in nurturing a child's ability to know what they need or want to find relief in their lives.

As a male clinician, I am also a huge advocate for men's mental health and helping them better connect with their emotional health to create a positive meaning of self. I often find people struggling with an internal battle within with three different sides of them battling for superiority: the person they want to be, the person they need to be, and the person they are. If you're struggling to discover who you are, I'd be thrilled to help you reach your full potential.
